3D printing – discovery

I recently stepped into the fascinating world of 3D printing, and it’s been nothing short of exciting.

I started with simple projects, like making towel hooks. These were easy to design and gave me a taste of what was possible. The thrill of seeing an idea come to life in just a few hours was addictive!

As I grew more confident, I tackled more complex projects. One of my favorites was creating parts for my sim racing rig. With the flexibility of 3D printing, I customized pieces to fit my needs perfectly. It was amazing to see my designs transform into functional parts.

Every day, I continue to be amazed by what I can create with my budget 3D printer. It’s incredible how much you can do without spending a fortune. I’ve learned to think creatively about solutions to everyday problems.

Getting a 3D printer also meant I had to revisit 3D design tools. I started using Tinkercad for basic designs and moved on to Autodesk Fusion for more complex modeling. It was a challenge to re-learn these programs, but it has made the process even more rewarding.

In just four months, I’ve emptied numerous rolls of filament. Each print has taught me something new, whether about design, the machine’s capabilities, or even troubleshooting.

3D printing has opened up a new creative outlet for me, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next!
